Green Events
WCF utilizes vendors focused on minimizing the impact of its events on the environment.
All vendors selected by WCF are required to use biodegradable materials for items such as utensils,
cups and plates. WCF also works with its venues to require recycling bins at each
summer event. While WCF can’t control every aspect of the event, it does whatever it can to
help, making it a leader in Green Events for Chicago.
Green Stats from Summer 2009:
Aluminum Cans & Bottles for Recycling – 198,750
99% Reclaimed Fiber Plates & Bowls – 116,600
100% Compostable Utensils – 349,800
